Costco has pulled another item owing to a food safety risk discovered by consumers.

Foster Farms, a Costco trademark, recalled 148,000 pounds of fully cooked frozen chicken breast patties on October 29. Consumers reported finding hard, transparent plastic in meals.

The contaminated items, made on August 11, 2022, were transported to Costco distribution sites in Arizona, California, Colorado, Utah, and Washington.

The 80-ounce plastic bags had a "Best By" date of August 11, 2023, establishment number "P-33901," lot code "3*2223**," and barcode number "7527899724."

The FSIS warned that "the hard plastic parts might be sharp and cause an injury" despite no recorded injuries linked to the chicken patties.

The government classifies the recall as "Class I – Medium to High Risk" and advises consumers to discard or return frozen chicken patties.

Costco's product recall page currently has no recall notification. Foster Farms Consumer Hotline: 1-800-338-8051; info@fosterfarms.com.

This isn't the only frozen food recalled this month.

ALDI recalled its Earth Grown Vegan Traditional Falafel and Garlic & Herb Falafel on Oct. 7. The FDA reported 20 hospitalizations in six states.
