Costco's Just Bare Lightly Breaded Chicken Breast Chunks blew up social media.
Since being called a Chick-fil-A chicken nugget fake in January 2021, the frozen meal has garnered crowds, sold out, and sadly become more pricey.
Now, Costco's four-pound package of chicken nuggets costs $17.99, easing buyers' wallets.
The wholesale club announced the news on Facebook, garnering over 1,000 responses from chicken nugget fans.
"These are awesome~ ideal for a night you don't feel like really cooking," said one Facebook user. Another said, "I bought 6 bags! Amazing! ."
After Costco's Facebook announcement, Reddit users reported that their local warehouses were selling the frozen item for $22–$24. Six months ago, the product cost $19.99—six dollars more than in 2021.
Some Redditors applauded the current price drop, while others wrote, "They were too expensive. Still." "Stopped buying them above $15," said another user.
The nuggets' quality deterioration is a major complaint. Redditor said, "Discount? Toss these. Quality declined last year. Pass."
Others agreed: "The first two bags we bought a year ago were like crack. The following two bags were awful like the provider changed. Chewier portions. Unfinished bag."
Costco's Facebook post says the Just Bare Lightly Breaded Chicken Breast Chunks may be bought in-store and online, with delivery at a premium price.
