The nation's largest supermarket chain will open new tech-driven food halls next week, allowing you to order fully cooked meals while shopping.
Both central Ohio businesses will let customers to mix and match several fast-food and quick casual restaurants prepared in a same kitchen.
Fuku Fried Chicken, Pei Wei Asian Kitchen, and Nékter Juice Bar will be available at each location. Nathan's Famous, Saladworks, and Dickey's Barbeque Pit all have different locations.
Kroger will open three food halls in the Columbus region, with Clintonville and Dublin opening on January 10 and 11, respectively, following the November opening of Gahanna.
Kitchen United, which operates ghost kitchen-style food halls in towns around the country, is collaborating with the supermarket giant to provide in-store eating options.
Kroger-owned stores in Los Angeles, Houston, and Dallas experimented with the concept. Have you ever needed a nap after going food shopping? Brilliant.
"We are constantly searching for new and distinctive methods to assist our consumers answer the
'what's for dinner tonight?' issue," said Kroger's Columbus Division vice president of merchandising.
"Kitchen United's collaboration is unusual since customers' restaurant-quality dinners will be prepared as they shop for fresh food and pantry necessities for their families."
