Pizza Hut Again Wins The Pizza War

Domino's, Pizza Hut and Papa John's are the top companies in their field. Most Americans would choose one of these three quick-service pizza chains if asked to pick their favourite.

Pizza Hut had a good end to 2022, but Domino's and Papa John's did not, which makes it hard to choose a winner.

Last year, Pizza Hut's same-store sales went up 1% in other countries, but they went down 1% in the U.S. In Q4 2022, the chain did well.

Same-store sales in the U.S. went up by 4%, and system sales went up by 5%. Pizza Hut Melts resemble folded pizzas.

The Thin N' Crispy crust from the chain has cheese, toppings, and dipping sauce. Pizza Hut advertised it as a quick dinner for single people and people who were in a hurry.

Even though inflation and rising costs were making people's budgets tight, the $6.99 price seemed to draw customers.

Gibbs said that Pizza Hut's sales went up by 30% because of how they promoted DoorDash and Uber Eats. Yum! During the quarter, Brands made more money and sold more than expected.

In the fourth quarter, Pizza Hut's $6.99 Melts brought in more people on a budget, while Domino's and Papa John's lifted their prices to cover rising food, labour, and

other costs, which made some customers cut back. Some customers are angry that Domino's raised the prices of two popular packages.

In May, the CEO of Papa John's said that partnerships with DoorDash, GrubHub, and Uber Eats were making up for the lack of delivery drivers in 2022.

Pizza Hut is currently the best pizza place, but nobody knows what will happen in the future.
