Popcorn Recalled In 9 States Due To Health Concerns

On January 3, the FDA received notification that Avery's Savory Popcorn, headquartered in Texas, has issued a recall for all flavours of its Gourmet Popcorn products.

Between November 22, 2022 and December 20, 2022, the recalled products were distributed for sale online.

They were distributed to Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Maryland, Ohio, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, and Texas. Each bag has a "Avery's Savory Popcorn" label on the front.

The recall was issued when the company discovered that the flavours may include allergens that are not listed on

the label, such as milk, soy, peanuts, sulfites, and tree nuts such as almonds, walnuts, pecans, and cashews.

A "temporary fault in the company's production and packaging procedures" triggered the error, according to an investigation.

People who are allergic or extremely sensitive to any of the unlisted ingredients "risk significant or life-threatening allergic reaction if they swallow these items.

Fortunately, the company states that no illnesses have occurred as a result of the recall as of yet.
