Taco Bell consumers can't get over the loss of a favourite item next month, but all good things must end.
This week, the restaurant revealed five new dishes, including the Bacon Club Chalupa and Double Steak Grilled Cheese Burrito, which fans love.
Yet it means something else needs to be dropped to make way for the novelties. The modification upset admirers of the menu item, as expected.
"They're discontinuing the quesarito? WE MUST ORGANIZE "After the announcement, one Twitter user remarked.
Several consumers thought Taco Bell removed the Quesarito to boost demand so it might return later.
"They'll bring it back months from now and pretend like it's a huge thing," a Reddit commenter predicted in a recent menu change discussion.
The Quesarito has yet to return to Taco Bell. After a successful test market debut, the chain made the food a permanent national menu item in June 2014.
Taco Bell customers were disappointed last week when they saw the prices for the chain's new menu items, regardless of the Quesarito's destiny.
Taco Bell recommends $3.49 and $4.99 for the Double Steak Grilled Cheese Burrito and Bacon Club Chalupa, respectively.
This week, many angry customers posted photographs on the Taco Bell subreddit showing both meals selling at far higher costs in several areas.
One consumer uploaded a snapshot of a $6.39 Bacon Club Chalupa. In another Reddit thread, a consumer posted a photo of a $10.99 Double Steak Grilled Cheese Burrito.
Taco Bell was notified about Quesarito customer concerns but did not reply.
