Since October of last year, Wendy's no longer had its famous 4 for $4 lunch deal. Instead, that price was used for their $5 Biggie Bag, which came with a sandwich.
This meant that the $4 deal could only be used to buy a Jr. Cheeseburger. Wendy's isn't getting rid of its $4 deal but now that the chain's menu has changed, franchisees can choose to make less of it.
When the new deals start on March 6, the chain will let stores take the "4 for $4" off their menu boards.
The item must stay on Wendy's app and any menu kiosks, and they must give it to you if you ask for it.
As part of its new menu, Wendy's has added a $6 Biggie Bag. In the stolen memo, there was a full list of all the new agreements.
New $6 Biggie Bag Meal Deal: Crispy Chicken BLT or Bacon Double Stack, plus 4-piece Nuggets (Crispy or Spicy), Jr. Fry and a small drink.
4 for $4 Meal Deal: The 4 for $4 lunch bargain does not need to be advertised in stores, but must be available upon customer request if the price is $4.
$5 Biggie Bag Meal Deal: JBC, Double Stack or Crispy Chicken Sandwich, plus 4-piece Nuggets (Crispy or Spicy), Jr. Fry and a small drink.
Wendy's wants to offer value and choice by offering a range of prices. Because McDonald's and Burger King don't offer them, Wendy's $4 meal deals are a plus.
In a call about the chain's performance for the first part of the fourth quarter, the CEO said that price is important to customers.
